Valley view Country Conserves was born in St Bees, a village on the North-West coast of Cumbria, England, conceived by two people who came to the village by chance in 1986.

They had a menial income, abundant energy, two jam pans and a book of family recipes. These they extended by collecting other recipes from parts of the world to which they had traveled.

They produce good, wholesome and entirely home-made preserves, which include 27 different chutneys, 8 varieties of marmalades, relishes and dips; seasonal jams and jellies; and between the months of September and January, many sacks of onions are faithfully denuded for pickling.

Local fresh fruit and vegetables are used whenever available, ensuring that customers experience healthy foods, acceptable tastes and pocket satisfaction. This customers prove, by purchasing and coming back for more.

Preserves are cooked in small batches but give large returns in enjoyment. E-numbers are never used, the policy of no artificial preservatives, colourings, or flavourings being paramount.

Country Conserves make purely and simply the best. They are usually open all day, every day.

Orders taken by post, telephone or email.
